Obey and Dickies, two brands that represent two reference points for subcultures around the world, have met in a collaboration that manages to remain faithful to the values of both brands.
Nothing to object, we ended up in a particular historical period, the only one of its kind until now, if inserted in the contemporary context. There has been a lot of talk about the repercussions that the pandemic has had and has on the economy, but we sell clothing and accessories so in this period we are trying to understand what the consequences will be on the streetwear slice.
It is almost obvious to say that the market has suffered a sudden stop that had never occurred before. Obviously, with such a contraction we could not expect anything else, collections skipped or postponed and the advent of a vacuum of content compared to what we are used to. Usually a capsule collection every two days is the minimum wage to cheer the conversations of enthusiasts and enrich real or virtual shelves of the shops that are always on the spot.
Fortunately, the collaboration we have been waiting for months has managed to see the light and arrive in Italy!
Obey and Dickies, two brands that represent two reference points for subcultures around the world, have met in a collaboration that manages to remain faithful to the values of both brands.
Obey as always wants to stimulate curiosity, leading people to question their relationship with the surrounding environment; Dickies for its part is synonymous with anti-fashion, with its workwear that is appealing precisely because it does not have many pretensions.
The capsule revisits the most classic Dickies garments (work shirt, work pants, eisenhower jacket ...) with the iconic graphic by Andre The Giant, the most representative and recognizable graphic that launched the American street artist and activist Shepard Fairey aka Obey at beginning of his career.
