SLOWTIDE | THE ART OF DRYING OFF

Slowtide looks beyond the ordinary and reinvents the classic beach towel with the use of special fabric dyes, mix of colors and patterns, pixel manipulation and collaborations with artists and photographers. Slowtide binds the love of water and art together.

How many times do we find ourselves on the beach or in the pool or even in the mountains and we are forced to show towels and towels with dubious appeal? Easy, almost always! As proof of this we often see streetwear addicted or super fashion addicted who then when we find them on the beach looking at their beach towell we immediately realize that they have forgotten their identity in the city! It must have been the same thought three American friends accustomed to frequenting beaches and surf spots between California and Hawaii made for years that prompted them to invent and found Slowtide in 2015.

They are Dario Phillips, Kyle Spencer, and Wylie Von Tempsky who fearlessly left their jobs to embark on the adventure of a more romantic choice. Taking inspiration from their lifestyle, fundamentally based on travel and the world around them from surfing, yoga, camping life, nature, the three boys transformed a trivial product like a towel and turned it into a potential work of art. 'art.

Slowtide tries to combine design and functionality together, creating a high-level product that is always suitable for the activity you are doing. And it always does so without losing sight of the idea behind the project: making a basic product cool. Through collaborations with artists such as Takashi Murakami, Clark Little, and Kevin Lyons, photographers and other brands with whom they create real capsule collections, Slowtide gives us truly unique pieces, of which we can finally be proud !!

It is clear that if aesthetics and therefore exteriority are certainly the aspects that we immediately notice in Slowtide products, what is behind and inside the brand must also be told. That is, attention to the quality of the product and how it is made. The three partners traveled the world in search of the right fabric factories, guaranteeing them fair working conditions and happy employees. From the beginning they tried to become true towel experts and looking at the result we can only say that they succeeded! They really pay attention to everything, from the sustainability of the materials used, to the details such as the ribbon to hang them, to the weaving techniques ... all applied to the various types of towels whether they are beach towels, yoga, fitness, home or even large towels for our moments of relaxation in the mountains or countryside!
