OBEY “DEFEND BLACK LIVES” AWARENESS COLLECTION

OBEY Clothing has released a new series of t-shirts titled "Defend Black Lives" in support of the fight against racial injustices against the black community.

This fundraiser is part of the OBEY Awareness charity and charity program active since 2007. All proceeds from the sale of the t-shirts will be donated and shared equally to two organizations: Black Lives Matter and Know Your Rights COVID-19 Relief Fund.

Recent images of violence against members of the black community have deeply shaken the world. The incessant protests in the United States and Europe are continuing to shake him. The fight against racism will go beyond the current protests. OBEY has always been, and will always continue to be, committed to this cause.

In the words of Shepard Fairey, artist and founder of Obey:

“Like everyone, I watched the video of George Floyd's murder at the hands of the Minneapolis police with horror and sadness, but unfortunately not with surprise. I often feel anger, nausea, despondency, loneliness and disillusionment at the thought of racism and the abuse of police power, and how these two forces often tragically converge. […] My way of reacting to too much indifference of people has always been to create images that highlight these injustices. I use these images to donate to organizations, such as Black Lives Matter (and others), that do essential work at the forefront of social justice. "

We encourage everyone to reflect, educate themselves and demand changes to combat the systemic racism that has permeated our culture - American culture as well as European - for far too long. We have never been afraid to take sides and we will not do it now.
