HUF founder Keith Hufnagel grew up skating the back streets of New York in the late '80s. At the time, the simple idea of riding a skateboard was not on anyone's radar: skating was a counterculture of outsiders who did not fit the mold. It was a way of life that shaped Hufnagel's vision of his own future. His passion for skating soon took him to San Francisco to turn pro, and before long led him to open a small shop he called HUF. The store quickly became known across the Bay, and the HUF name a reference point for the skate community. With popularity growing fast, Hufnagel decided to turn the HUF project into a brand covering everything he felt he stood for: skate, street and fresh footwear. HUF was born – an independent clothing, footwear and skate hardware label. Created by skaters for skaters, HUF makes quality, forward-thinking product, drawing inspiration from the many individuals and cultures that together make up the skate community. It has since become a cornerstone of streetwear, with ever more frequent crossovers into the world of fashion.
